Barnes offers several voluntary programs to provide you and your family with income protection in the event of an accident, hospitalization, critical illness/diagnosis or even for everyday occurrences such as legal or identity theft.
Hospital Indemnity
Hospital Indemnity coverage, through Aetna, can complement your health insurance providing a cash benefit in the event of an unexpected hospital stay for a covered illness and/or injury. You and your covered dependents are paid a set benefit amount, depending on your plan and the length of your stay. And you can use the payment in any way you choose – from medical expenses like deductibles and coinsurance to everyday costs, like housekeeping and childcare.
Accident Insurance
An Accident Insurance Plan, through Aetna, can pay lump-sum benefits based on an injury you receive and the treatment you need, such as X-rays, emergency room care, ambulance services and related surgery. The benefit can help offset the out-of-pocket expenses that medical insurance does not pay, including deductibles and copays.
Critical Illness Insurance
Critical Illness Insurance, through Aetna, helps provide additional financial protection in the event of a covered critical illness1 or diagnosis. You may choose a policy benefit in $10,000, $20,000 or $30,000 increments.
1. Please refer to the policy for complete definitions of covered critical illnesses
ID Theft Protection
ID Theft Insurance, with Allstate, helps to detect identity theft and minimize damages to your personal assets by actively monitoring and notifying you of suspicious activity. Additionally, coverage under this policy also includes complete credit monitoring.
Pre-paid Legal Insurance
Our Pre-Paid Legal Insurance, with MetLife, offers employees support for a number of issues, including house and real estate, estate planning, family law, auto accidents, and more. MetLife gives you easy and low-cost access to a wide variety of personal legal services without deductibles, copays and usage limits when you use a network plan attorney.
