Pension
The Barnes Group Pension Plan is a Defined Benefit Plan, provided to eligible employees, at the Company's expense. This plan is designed to help provide a foundation for your financial security when you retire from the Company, along with the Retirement Savings Plan and your personal savings. All plan pension benefits are paid in addition to Social Security.
The Salaried Retirement Income Plan was frozen to new entrants on December 31, 2012.
You are eligible to participate in the plan if you were hired to work for a participating division of the Company on or before December 31, 2012.
You are not eligible to participate in the plan if you are:
- A salaried or hourly employee hired, rehired, or reclassified after December 31, 2012, and eligible for the Company’s 4% Defined Contribution Plan;
- Employees of Barnes Aerospace who are eligible to participate in the Company’s Profit Sharing Plan;
- A union employee; or
- A leased employee
You will become vested in the Company’s pension plan, if eligible, after five years of service with the Company.
